Employment Questions

I have worked for the same company for many years. Unfortunately the firm has signed an agreement with the trade unions allowing it to make employees take time off during slack periods and work longer when it’s busy. I don’t know the details of the agreement but I was wondering if I would be entitled to ask for redundancy?

Staff where my husband works have been issued with a new contract which increases their annual leave from 30 to 35 days. The catch is that in future all sick days must either be taken as statutory sick pay or as annual leave. What do you think?

My daughter was dismissed from her job after three months because of a reference provided by her previous employer. Her old firm refuses to set the record straight, and the company that’s dismissed her says it can only act on information received.
