Areas of Law / Property

I sold a piece of land in 1990 to developers who built houses on part of it. They also built on some of my land that I didn’’t sell to them, but I didn’’t discover this until recently. I would like to have the land returned. How would I go about doing this?

I don’’t think you have any chance of getting your land back: in all likelihood you lost your claim to it once the deal was signed and sealed in 1990, even if the boundaries were marked in the wrong place. If your solicitors acted negligently in drawing up the conveyance you may be able to claim compensation from them, but it’’s likely that you are too late. Get a legal opinion on this from a solicitor who has the opportunity to see all the documents relating to the case.
