Areas of Law / Personal Injury

Two years ago I was knocked down by a car. At the beginning of March my solicitor told me that I had been awarded £5,000 compensation, but I’ve still heard nothing from the insurance company. Is there any way I can get them to pay up?

Without the details of your case I can only speculate as to the cause of the delay. It’s possible that your solicitor has to settle the question of your legal costs before he can release the compensation to you. Normally any settlement or order would cover the payment of your legal costs in addition to compensation. You should press your own solicitor for an explanation and a speedy conclusion.
