I missed the coach taking me on holiday because the taxi I’d booked was three-quarters of an hour late. Is there any action I can take about this? The manager of the taxi firm said he only had a limited number of vehicles and I should have allowed more time.
As long as you made the taxi firm aware that you had to meet a coach travelling abroad you could take the taxi firm to court for compensation for your financial loss and also perhaps for disappointment and loss of enjoyment. Your only problem with this will be proving it. You have a good case if you booked the car in writing, explaining that you had to meet the coach, and kept a copy of the letter. The taxi firm shouldn’t have accepted your booking if it couldn’t provide a vehicle.
