Areas of Law / Property

I own a drive that serves my bungalow and the one belonging to my neighbour. My neighbour parks one of his cars on it, and I am happy for him to continue doing so, but there’s a covenant in the title deeds saying he shouldn’t. Should I have something in writing in case he lays claim to the part of the drive he parks on?

Your neighbour won’t be able to lay claim to part of the road, but if he parks his car there for more than 20 years he could end up claiming that he (and anyone who lives in the house in future) has a right to park there. A letter from you giving your neighbour permission to park his car there would prevent him claiming a legal right to do so.
