Areas of Law / Consumer Law

My daughters and I joined a gym six months ago, paying via a credit agreement with a finance company. The gym has closed down temporarily, and I wondered whether we’re entitled to cancel the credit agreement in the circumstances.

Yes. There’s a basic supposition in any contract that you should get something for your money. If the service you’re paying for is no longer available you’re entitled to a refund, or to stop paying for it. Write to the finance company explaining the circumstances and cancel your payments.
