My neighbour is going to build a conservatory. Does she need planning permission, and can she build on the party wall, since it’s going to be above 6ft high?

It’s unlikely your neighbour will require planning permission for a conservatory unless it’s very large (or the original house is very small) or she intends to put it on the front of the house or next to a road. Anyone planning modifications would be advised to double check first, however. But your neighbour may not be able to raise the height of the party wall without your permission or giving a statutory notice. If you object she may have to build the end wall of the conservatory on her own land. Warn her that if she goes ahead without your permission you will obtain an injunction to stop the building work.
