Areas of Law / General Legal Advice

My fiancé wanted somewhere to do up his car, so I agreed to let him knock down part of my garden wall so that he could get the vehicle into my back yard. This was on condition that he rebuilt the wall after the project was completed, we’’ve now split up. Is there any way I can force him to rebuild the wall?

I suggest you write to your ex-fiancé telling him that unless he repairs the damage you will get a builder in to do the job and sue him in the County Court to recover the cost. If he doesn’’t respond (and you think he has the money to pay you) you can get a couple of estimates from builders for the work and take out a claim yourself. A solicitor’s letter may prompt him into action without going to court.
