Areas of Law / Employment

I have been given an untruthful reference by my current employer do I have to go through the internal grievance procedure before taking civil action or is that only the case with a employment tribunal?

You can raise a grievance about any dispute in the work place and this would still constitute this however you would need to consider your overall objectives and so as not to impede potential future employment. I would take specialist employment law advice.
