Areas of Law / Personal Injury

I was on a bus which was involved in a road accident, and I suffered a leg fracture and whiplash. I contacted the bus company to discuss compensation, but they say they will not pay because the driver was not using the correct bus route. Why should this let them off the hook?

The bus company is responsible for negligence of the driver provided he was “acting in the course of his employment” – even if he wasn’t strictly following orders. If the bus driver was to blame for the crash you should probably file a claim against both the driver and the bus company. You should see a solicitor specialising in personal injury cases. An initial interview shouldn’t cost you anything, and I suggest you ask about a “no win, no fee” arrangement.
