Areas of Law / Bankruptcy Debt

Could a discharged bankrupt be charged with any offence for not disclosing their bankruptcy on a job application form?

There’s no legal obligation to mention that you have been made bankrupt in the past – or even if you have still to be discharged – when filling out an application form unless you have not been discharged and the position relates to a directorship of a company or a chief executive. In certain instances where you have been discharged there may be further orders of the court that need to be complied with and you should beware of these, but bankruptcy shouldn’’t stop you getting employment.
